Ingredients of Chow Chow
- You need 1 head of Cabbage.
- Prepare 1 large of Yellow onion.
- It's 2 of Cucumbers.
- It's 6 medium of Green tomatoes.
- Prepare 3 pints of Apple cider vinegar.
- It's 2 1/2 cup of White sugar.
Chow Chow step by step
- Chop up all vegetables (doesn't have to be very finely chopped but just a tad bit bigger).
- Put veggies in large pot and add vinegar and sugar.
- Turn on heat and bring to boil, cook on medium for 20 minutes (start time when it starts to boil).
- Jars should be in a water bath that is hot along with lids, take jars out each at a time and fill to first ring.
- Wipe off rim of jar and place hot lid and ring on top and screw tight and place on dry towel on counter.
- Wait until all lids have sealed and made a pop sound then store, if jar did not seal it has to be refrigerated.
- Makes around 10 pint sized jars.
