Ingredients of English Cottage Pie
- You need 1 kg of King Edward Potatoes.
- It's 500 grams of Lean Steak Mince Meat.
- It's 6 tbsp of Milk.
- You need 3 of White Mushrooms.
- You need 2 tbsp of Butter.
- It's 1 of Green Bell Pepper.
- Prepare 1 of Carrott.
- It's 1 clove of Garlic.
- You need 1/2 of Red Onion.
- It's 400 ml of Beef Stock.
- You need 100 grams of Grated Cheese.
English Cottage Pie step by step
- Preheat oven to No 5.
- Peel & boil potatoes, drain potatoes in collinder, then add milk & butter to pot, reheat until butter has melted. place boiled potatoes back in pot and mash well.
- Chop onion, mushroom, pepper & carrotts, crush garlic.
- In new pot add olive oil bring to low heat, add carrotts, onion, pepper, mushrooms & garlic fry for 5 mins.
- Add lean mince meat & beef stock to onion, mushroom & carrott mix pot. stir well & cook until meat is brown, 15 mins.
- Place meat mixture into oven baking dish, cover with mash potatoes & sprinkle over grated cheese.
- Place on middle oven shelf for 30 mins until surface is golden brown.
